- ➤ Food pantries in Green Bay have seen rising need this fall as food insecurity affects over 31,000 residents and one local pantry nearly doubled its visitors in early November—local groups like Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and Brown County Hunger Coalition delivered 400 'tend and table' boxes with fresh produce to eight pantries and select patients to help bridge food gaps this winter. - ➤ New Community Shelter broke ground Tuesday on a $14M supportive housing project in Green Bay that will add 41 one-bedroom apartments for chronically homeless people. - ➤ Green Bay East football coach Kominiko Sila was fired by the school board on Nov 19 after he was accused of falsifying student attendance records and failing to follow student transport rules. The board voted 5—2 after a lengthy hearing and Sila said he will run for school board next year. Green Bay Press-Gazette
- ➤ UW-Green Bay announced a $1 million gift from alumnus Dr. Paul J. Schilling ’82 that established the Dr. Charles Ihrke Scholarship Fund to help incoming STEM students with financial need—this scholarship offers a four-year renewable award of $5,000 to support their studies. The university said the fund honors Dr. Ihrke's mentorship and aims to increase access to STEM education. Green Bay News Network
- ➤ Green Bay board members will meet at 4:30 p.m. today to decide if East High School football coach Niko Sila should be fired—Sila has been on leave since Oct.16, declined a resignation offer with a severance on Oct.30, and his representatives called the allegations hearsay. FOX 11
