ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • First responders were called to Rockland Park apartment complex in East De Pere on Sunday night around 7 p.m.—after lightning struck the building, leaving a hole in the roof and an electrical burning smell that prompted several residents to self-evacuate—while fire crews turned off the power and all 24 residents were displaced pending further evaluation with no injuries reported.  WBAY
  • On Sunday evening the Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to a house fire at a single-family home on the 2000 block of Preble Avenue — residents had evacuated before crews arrived and the fire was quickly extinguished, displacing two people and leading to the safe rescue of a pet.  WBAY
  • Lightning struck a two-story apartment complex on the 2100 block of Ryan Road in De Pere on Sunday evening, displacing 24 tenants until an electrician verifies the damage—firefighters noted a burnt electrical smell but no injuries or fire.  NBC 26

CRIME NEWS

  • A former Packers defensive tackle with a history of legal troubles was arrested Saturday in Brown County on charges of disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and a probation violation—he is now held in the county jail.  94.3 Jack FM

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ashwaubenon High School held its Class of 2025 graduation ceremony yesterday where seniors gave speeches, performed with the band and choir + presented superintendent Kurt Weyers with a signed diploma before his retirement on June 30.  Green Bay Press-Gazette
  • Bay Port High School held its graduation ceremony on June 8 in Suamico where seniors celebrated their achievements with speeches from school officials — including Superintendent Mark Smith and retiring Principal Mike Frieder — as family members watched proudly.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • Riders in Green Bay braved heavy rain on Sunday morning for the Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer ride—a tradition that has raised nearly $3 million in 22 years for local cancer organizations. Jerry Parins (former Green Bay police officer and cancer survivor) led the event while Jim Stallard (a longtime rider honoring his late brother) raised more than $18,000, underscoring strong support for the cause.  WBAY
