GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Green Bay officials are preparing for the NFL draft on April 24 and expect nearly $2.5 million in public safety costs—shared by the city, Ashwaubenon, and Brown County. Gov. Tony Evers recommended $1 million to help cover expenses, and the municipalities will coordinate state funding if approved.  Green Bay Press-Gazette
  • On April 1, Wisconsin will hold its most expensive and partisan Supreme Court race as national donors back both sides. Voters face a tight contest driven by high spending and strong political involvement that may change the court’s balance — a new test of outside influence in a local race.  Green Bay Press-Gazette
  • Green Bay lost $5 million in federal funds for a new fire station when Congress passed a continuing resolution on March 15 that cut off over $250 million in earmarks—including the funds for the fire station project—leading to a loss for the plan.
