COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Red Cross volunteers provided safe refuge, hot meals and basic health services for families affected by disasters, with over $130 million in donations helping hurricane recovery last year. The organization will continue its support during the holiday season — responses to home fire emergencies typically spike by nearly 20%.  Green Bay News Network
  • Titletown will host its annual New Year's Eve celebration from Dec. 31 at 10 a.m. until 1 a.m. on New Year's Day, offering free family-friendly activities including ice skating, tubing, live music, and dual countdowns with fireworks — guests can also enjoy viewing from local parking areas. The event requires online waivers for skating and tubing and will feature local radio broadcasts.  FOX 11
  • Green Bay police chief Chris Davis and Metro Fire Department chief Matthew Knott rang bells at Festival Foods on West Mason Street—raising donations for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign in a friendly competition, with results to be announced later.  FOX 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Green Bay Area Public Schools released survey results from 2,041 responses from staff, students, families and community members collected Nov. 3—14 amid its superintendent search. Respondents named dedicated staff and academic programs as strengths—while citing concerns over student behavior, safety and staffing shortages, and the board will interview candidates in March.  FOX 11
  • Northeast Wisconsin Technical College received a $1.3M federal grant to help low-income and first-generation college students get better support for their studies. The new program will serve 140 students a year with advising, tutoring, and career help — and will start in spring 2026.  FOX 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Brown County’s Planning Development and Transportation Committee recommended a $44,192,880.62 contract award to Zenith Tech for building the Port of Green Bay development site to relocate coal storage—its total project cost is estimated at about $57.3 million with $57.4 million in secured funds. The Harbor Commission will review the bid on Dec. 8 and the Board of Supervisors is expected to vote on the recommendation on Dec. 17 before contract terms are finalized in early 2026.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Northern Wisconsin native Robin Greenfield is two months into his year-long challenge to forage all his food and now must rely on his gathered wild foods during winter—he will speak at Green Bay's Tarlton Theater on Saturday, Dec 6 from noon to 3 p.m. to share his journey and inspire sustainable food practices.  FOX 11

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Packers will face the Bears at Lambeau Field this Sunday as both teams fight for the division title and stronger postseason chances. Ticket prices are high at over $300 — cold weather may lower the cost later in the week.  WNCY
  • On Dec 1, the second holiday autograph session took place at Fleet Farm in Howard where fans lined up to get autographs from five Packers players and donate at least $50 to support the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign — funds that aided local services. The final session will be held on Dec 15 at Festival Foods in Suamico — featured player names have not yet been released.  WNCY
