- ➤ Small Business Saturday is coming Saturday, November 29, and residents are encouraged to visit local shops and restaurants that boost the local economy—each purchase helps support community jobs and events. - ➤ Photojournalists Sarah Kloepping and Tork Mason shared their best photos from November, showing state championship football plays, local pub openings, and food recovery efforts+the collection offers a vivid look at sports and community events. Green Bay Press-Gazette
- ➤ The Hmong American United of Green Bay will hold a Hmong New Year celebration on November 29 at Ashwaubenon Community Center—where elders will lead rituals like the hu plig and a hard-boiled egg welcome, and live music, dancing, and lunch will follow into the evening with several hundred expected attendees. - ➤ Ashwaubenon High School welding students built custom steel snowflakes for the NEW Zoo holiday display after completing a project that gave them hands-on training in design, plasma cutting, and welding (all metal was donated). 94.3 Jack FM
- ➤ Green Bay East High School fired football coach Niko Sila after a 5-2 school board vote and student complaints that he accepted food and drinks without proper reimbursement, adding to concerns over his handling of attendance records and student rides. Sila said he always paid students back and now plans to run for the school board and start a youth mentoring program—students and parents continue to support him. FOX 11

- ➤ UW-Green Bay is offering a virtual course called 'The Greatest Offensive Players in Green Bay Packers History' that covers three eras through nine live sessions taught by Brent Hensel for students and community members. The course will run every Wednesday from 1-2:30 p.m. from January 7 to March 4 (registration is $119) (classes occur online). WNCY
- ➤ Discover Green Bay said that the new Resch Expo partnered with the Resch Center has boosted sports tourism by drawing millions from tournaments and conventions — a sign the area is growing as a sports destination.
