BUSINESS NEWS

  • Ten local entrepreneurs who won pitch contests are advancing to a regional competition hosted by New North Inc.—the contest will be held at TitletownTech in Green Bay on December 3, where participants will compete for prize money. Regional winners will later be invited to update investors at the New North Summit at Lambeau Field on June 9.  Green Bay News Network

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Christkindlmarket on Broadway kicked off Thursday night with a tree lighting ceremony—showing carolers, sled dogs, and other festive sights in downtown Green Bay. The market will run through December 20th and Santa is set to return on December 13th.  WBAY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • UW-Green Bay appointed Corey Behnke, co-founder and CEO of LiveX, as Practitioner in Residence on November 5th; he will work with students, faculty and community partners to bring practical media production experience—his local roots strengthen academic and industry links.  Green Bay News Network
  • A new agreement between NWTC and UW-Platteville allows local students to work toward a Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial & Systems Engineering via hybrid, online, and dual enrollment courses while staying in Northeast Wisconsin—students receive guaranteed transfer pathways to UW-Platteville’s ABET-accredited programs. NWTC officials say the partnership removes traditional barriers by providing clear and flexible routes to high-demand engineering careers.  WTAQ

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Wisconsin’s DNR explained that steady rain and wind may affect deer activity but wind direction is more important as deer rely on their nose ahead of tomorrow’s gun deer opener. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Valley Transit has offered a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 to ease the bus driver shortage—eligible drivers must hold a commercial driver’s license with a P endorsement and a clean driving record. The bonus aims to attract new employees as soon as possible.  FOX 11
  • Green Bay airport is asking for public feedback on its plans for modernization and expansion—officials say the input will guide design decisions for the project.  FOX 11

  • Several Wisconsin farmers are providing the ingredients for Thanksgiving spreads by raising turkeys, cranberries, onions, potatoes, and mint.   • The Green Bay Housing Authority completed renovations to Mason Manor and other public housing units, making them energy efficient and accessible.
