COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On November 10th, more than 300 students at Nicolet Elementary received new athletic shoes donated by Shoes That Fit in partnership with Breakthrough—every student at Howe Elementary also received shoes as part of a total donation of 850 pairs to help families afford proper footwear.  WTAQ
  • On Tuesday, communities in Green Bay, Neenah and Appleton held events to honor veterans in observance of Veterans Day. The ceremony at Neville Public Museum in Green Bay began at 10 a.m. with speeches and a band and ended with rifle volleys and Taps—Neenah's event at Shattuck Park featured local officials at 11 a.m. while Appleton hosted a free ball at Touchmark with live jazz starting at 4:30 p.m.  WBAY
  • Craig and Julie Bell honor their late son Todd—lost in 2012—by donating Packers season tickets and additional benefits like a two-night motel stay and $1,000 to children with disabilities at Lambeau Field; the Bells have provided tickets for 42 games and ask recipients to share a picture with a 'Thank you, Todd' sign.  WNCY

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Twin sisters Kayla and Haley Fritsch, 26, died in a house fire on November 6th in Howard when their home on Rockwell Road was destroyed & multiple pets perished while a nearby residence suffered moderate damage.  WTAQ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Green Bay East High School football coach Niko Sila has asked for the public to be allowed at a Nov. 19 school board meeting—where his job fate will be decided—after he was placed on leave on Oct. 16 for alleged misconduct and refused the option to resign.  94.3 Jack FM
  • Green Bay East High School football coach Niko Sila asks that the meeting on November 19 be open to the public so the board can decide his fate; he has been on administrative leave since October 16 after facing a list of allegations (he has been with the district since 2018).  WNCY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials held a ribbon cutting on November 10th to celebrate the near-completion of a two-year project that expanded Lineville Road from a two-lane to a four-lane road for improved safety and economic growth—featuring a 12-foot multi-use trail and updated roundabouts. Officials said the road will fully open to traffic by the end of next week.  94.3 Jack FM
  • Green Bay city council unanimously approved exclusive talks with United Soccer League (USL) to bring professional men's and women's soccer teams to the city. The USL will work with local residents on plans for a 5,000-seat stadium that is set to host sports, concerts and community events until the negotiation window ends in September.  FOX 11
