COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Stephanie Swain rescued a kitten that fell off the Michigan Street Bridge into the Sturgeon Bay channel and took it to the Wisconsin Humane Society for care. The family welcomed the playful cat—renamed Angel to honor a loved one—as 13-year-old Angelynn Vincent discovered it curled on her Hello Kitty blanket after it was picked up on October 7.  Green Bay Press-Gazette
  • On Oct. 14, 2025, the Pulaski community unveiled a Veterans Monument at Veterans Memorial Park that honors over 560 local servicemembers with four granite tablets designed to hold nearly 2,000 names. Local volunteers, veterans and donors helped raise about $125,000—covering costs for work and materials—to complete the memorial.  WNCY

  • Streu’s Pharmacy—at 635 Main St. where it has served the community for 70 years—will close to the public at the end of November due to unsustainable medication reimbursement rates and will shift its focus to long-term care pharmacy services.  Green Bay Press-Gazette
  • The Greater Green Bay Chamber has named Lara Fritts as its next President and CEO, effective December 1, after a six-month nationwide search. Fritts currently leads the Division of Economic Opportunity in Frederick, Maryland — she is the second woman to serve in the role.  Green Bay News Network

  • After selling out his first show at Lambeau Field, country star Luke Combs announced a second concert to meet high demand—tickets are expected to sell quickly and fans from across the Midwest look forward to both events.  NBC 26

EDUCATION NEWS

  • UW-Green Bay is planning big changes to its classes and money system as its Chancellor sent an open letter to Northeast Wisconsin — the plan follows a long review of the school programs to address a changing education system.  WBAY

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Green Bay Conservation Corps has expanded its services with a new roving crew program that will partner with local organizations on habitat restoration and conservation projects within a 60-mile radius of Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. The program extends its service area — offering a more comprehensive environmental impact.  WBAY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Brown County's proposed budget would allocate $2.5 million to renovate Bay Shore Park next year if approved—construction is set to begin in late summer or fall of 2026. The upgrades will add a welcome center, ranger station, more parking, and improved facilities to help manage large crowds at a park that draws over 230,000 visitors annually.  Green Bay Press-Gazette
