EDUCATION NEWS

  • Green Bay’s school board will discuss community recommendations to improve school safety at its meeting tonight – the proposals include dress code changes, closing campus for lunch, adding weapons detection systems, and increasing school resource officers while the district works to address a budget shortfall. Superintendent Vicki Bayer noted the board may request additional research and community feedback before moving forward.  FOX 11

HEALTH NEWS

  • At Sunday's game, the Packers worked with the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation on their nearly ten-year Crucial Catch Intercept Cancer program to raise awareness for early cancer screening. The team honored survivors and sold hats with funds going to cancer research—boosting the fight—while fans cheered real stories like Mason MacNeil's battle with Hodgkin Lymphoma.  WBAY

SPORTS NEWS

  • Green Bay Packers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 27-18 on Sunday as Josh Jacobs rushed for two touchdowns and Jordan Love passed for 259 yards with a touchdown—Lucas Havrisik sealed the win with a 39-yard field goal while Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco, in his debut, threw two touchdowns but could not spark a comeback.  WBAY
  • Daulton Varsho, a Marshfield native (former UW-Milwaukee player), is aiming for a World Series ring with the Toronto Blue Jays after a strong postseason that includes a two-homer game against the Yankees. He spent three seasons in Arizona before joining Toronto and is batting .438 this postseason.  FOX 11
