- ➤ Organizers of the NEW Pride Alive festival have rescheduled the event to be held indoors at the Oneida Casino Hotel on Sunday, Nov. 2 — the change was made to address safety concerns after the original outdoor plans at the Brown County Fairgrounds were canceled, and the festival remains open to all ages with planned vendors, entertainers and activities. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The NEW Pride Fest event, postponed due to a charged political climate, will be held on November 2 at the Oneida Casino Hotel instead of its usual September slot—organizers said the change ensures a safe celebration. A pop-up pride event will take place downtown on October 4 to address the postponement. NBC 26

- ➤ Luxemburg-Casco High School student Rylen Hinckley has been named a National Merit semifinalist — he will compete for scholarships offered next spring — joining fewer than one percent of high school seniors nationwide. Green Bay News Network

- ➤ UW-Green Bay received a $330,000 grant from SC Johnson to study microplastics in Lake Michigan and Bay of Green Bay—research will check how often fish swallow plastics and which problem areas are most affected. - ➤ The City of Green Bay’s Department of Public Works announced that North Quincy Street—between Radisson and Weise Streets—will be closed for utility repairs from Monday, September 29th to Monday, October 6th with detours via Radisson Street, Webster Avenue, and Klaus Street. - ➤ The Green Bay Police Department promoted six long-serving officers—one sergeant, two lieutenants, two captains, and one commander—in a ceremony held on Wednesday, September 24, recognizing their years of service and leadership. Green Bay News Network
- ➤ State Rep. Francesca Hong campaigned at Skyline Park in Ashwaubenon on Thursday, September 25th—she promised a progressive agenda that draws on her experience as a bartender, dishwasher and line cook to connect with working-class voters in the governor’s race. WNCY

- ➤ The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and Mental Health America Lakeshore launched an Addiction Recovery Certificate Program in Green Bay to equip professionals and family members with skills to support recovery—this online program offers 10 hours for professionals and 4 hours for allies with fees of $49 and $25 respectively.
