- ➤ Retired firefighter Ron Parker recalled today his time at Ground Zero on 9/11 when many friends and fellow firefighters lost their lives—his vivid memories remind us of that tragic day. - ➤ Preble High School will have extra police indefinitely after a student was arrested on Sept 9 when a handgun and ammunition were found in a locked classroom after multiple fights—police said the presence is to help students feel safe. Green Bay Press-Gazette

- ➤ Legendary Lambeau Field was named the 11th Wonder of Wisconsin during a joint announcement with the Packers on Wednesday—Travel Wisconsin added the historic stadium to its list of must-see state attractions. - ➤ UW-Green Bay has received a $1 million boost for its Rising Phoenix dual credit program that now gives over 600 high school students a chance to earn college credit and reduce future costs. State lawmakers led by Sen. Jamie Wall secured the funding to help expand the program to new districts + allow more students to benefit. FOX 11

- ➤ The Donald A. Tilleman Bridge also known as Mason Street Bridge will be closed for fall maintenance from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 16, and traffic will use detours along South Ashland Avenue, Walnut Street, and South Monroe Avenue—motorists are urged to drive with caution and expect delays. - ➤ Governor Tony Evers ordered all flags to be flown at half-staff today as part of Wisconsin's 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance to honor nearly 3,000 lives lost in the attacks. He urged neighbors to serve their communities — encouraging acts of kindness to remember the bravery of first responders. NBC 26
- ➤ Yesterday, Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul held a press conference at the Green Bay Police Department with members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce + local school officials to advise parents on protecting children from online threats such as sextortion, a risk underscored by the case of a 17-year-old victim. - ➤ Green Bay will begin a long-term closure of East Mason Street near East Town Mall at 7 a.m. Sept. 15 for reconstruction that may last up to 28 days as part of a five-year capital improvement plan—commuters must use a detour via Bellevue Street, Verlin Road, Main Street, and Webster Avenue.
