CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 9, police reported that a student at Preble High School was arrested after a gun and ammunition were found in a locked classroom following fights in the commons—no one was hurt and charges will be decided as the school ramps up police and student support tomorrow. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Green Bay City Council has changed the mayor’s salary plan to remove automatic raises in perpetuity—city staff found the previous wording violated Wisconsin law. The new ordinance boosts the salary to $128,547 in April 2027 and calls for increases every four years, with final approval expected on Sept. 16. Green Bay Press-Gazette

- ➤ The former Wisconsin Public Service headquarters in downtown Green Bay has been cleared and now offers an 8.2-acre riverfront parcel for sale targeted for multifamily housing—city officials say the site, with views of both the Fox and East rivers, could also host a new parking structure to boost downtown redevelopment.
