ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Severe storms on Saturday afternoon caused tornado warnings and left tens of thousands without power in the Bay of Green Bay as damaging wind gusts were reported from Wautoma to Ellison Bay — local emergency management advised residents to stay indoors and use nearby shelters if needed. WBAY
- ➤ On Saturday, strong storms left thousands in Northeast Wisconsin without power, with Brown County reporting about 7,700 outages, Door County 2,900, and Waupaca County between 1,700 and 3,500 outages while another map showed 3,800 outages in Outagamie County. Meteorologists are closely monitoring the storm activity — they will update residents as the situation evolves. FOX 11

- ➤ Sen. Tammy Baldwin hosted a roundtable at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay on Aug. 8 to discuss how proposed Medicaid cuts could force rural hospitals to close OB/GYN units—affecting expectant mothers and other working families.
