Green Bay police have opened registration for their annual eight-week Community Academy—an interactive course where residents learn about the Marine Unit, Dive Team, K9, and SWAT while receiving hands-on training and meeting various officers.

The program runs from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesdays at the police station from August 27 to October 15 with class sizes capped at 30.

The Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay held its —Stuff the Bus— school supply drive on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Walmart stores in Green Bay and De Pere, where volunteers collected extra supplies.

Donated items will be distributed at the One Stop School Shop event next month.
