COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Officials unveiled a public health vending machine outside the YMCA’s Ferguson Family branch on Pine Street Monday to provide free essential items such as Narcan, fentanyl test strips, toothpaste, soap, bandages, and feminine hygiene supplies 24/7—aiming to reduce harm and promote safety. The YMCA also requests community donations to help stock the machine, which is funded by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.  FOX 11

CRIME NEWS

  • On July 24, the United States filed a civil complaint against David Jones and D Jones Properties LLC for alleged sexual harassment and retaliation that violated the Fair Housing Act in Green Bay—seeking monetary damages and a court order to stop future discrimination.  NBC 26
  • Two Green Bay men, ages 40 and 41, were arrested on July 28 for their alleged role in a shooting on November 3, 2023—which took the life of 30-year-old Carlos Otero-Aviles in an apartment complex parking lot—and police ask witnesses to come forward.  WeAreGreenBay.com

  • Officials in Green Bay said tornado sirens may sound briefly on Monday, July 28 and today during scheduled maintenance work in Brown County—severe weather is not expected.  WeAreGreenBay.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Green Bay Packers selected 16 finalists in the Give Us A Sign contest and set up a bracket-style tournament that began Monday and will run until Aug. 25. Five finalists are from Wisconsin — the winning sign idea will be printed and shared at a 2025 game along with game tickets, airfare, and a two-night hotel stay.  FOX 11
