CRIME NEWS

  • Green Bay woman Elizabeth Drake, 40, was sentenced to a year in prison for neglecting her bedridden mother whose room was unsanitary with bedsores, garbage, and bugs — she will serve nine months in jail after her prison term and must not contact her mother.  WNCY
  • Elizabeth Drake was sentenced by Brown County court on July 14 for neglecting her bedridden mother in an unsanitary home—she received a year in prison, a nine-month jail term to be served after the prison term, three years of extended supervision, and a ban on any contact with her mother.  FOX 11
  • Elizabeth Drake was sentenced to one year in prison with three years of extended supervision and a subsequent nine-month jail term after she neglected her bedridden mother who lived in unsanitary conditions on Vroman Street in Green Bay + the court ordered her to have no contact with her mother.  WTAQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A plan to redevelop the 44.27-acre former Georgia-Pacific mill site at 500 Day Street will be presented to the City Council tonight in City Hall room 203. Scout Development—an arm of McDonald Companies—holds an option to buy the property and will offer further plans by November if due diligence goes well.  WNCY
  • A veterans housing facility in Green Bay will close by Sept. 30 after the state budget approved $0 in new funding, forcing the closure of the Green Bay and Chippewa Falls sites while 16 residents work to secure alternative housing. The Union Grove site will remain open for applications to assist veterans experiencing housing insecurity.  FOX 11
  • Green Bay City Council will review a redevelopment plan today to transform the former Georgia-Pacific mill at 500 Day Street into a downtown riverfront extension. A Memorandum of Understanding with Scout Development—an arm of McDonald Companies—outlines plans for commercial, residential, and public access areas, and the developer is expected to submit detailed plans by November.  FOX 11
