  • Ashwaubenon Public Safety found a young non-verbal girl near Ramada Way Thursday morning and held her safely while community members shared helpful information—officials later said her parents were located and she was reunited with them.  WeAreGreenBay.com

CRIME NEWS

  • A Winneconne man (5-foot-8, 250 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes) was reported missing and endangered after his car was found abandoned on private land in Lincoln County at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, and trail camera footage captured someone matching his description three days earlier; officials urge anyone with information to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.  WHBY
  • A former high-ranking bank official in Green Bay, Amy Jo Reid, pleaded guilty in federal court to three fraud charges after she used bank purchase cards to cover personal expenses, including travel, property taxes, and gambling, over a six-year period from May 2018 to May 2024 – she must repay nearly $412K and now faces severe penalties.  WTAQ
  • De Pere businessman Joseph Schinkten, 68, was charged with two counts of second degree sexual assault of a child and one count of child pornography possession after a 15 year old boy reported sharing explicit photos with him—he will return to court on Monday after authorities set a $25,000 cash bond.  FOX 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Registration is now open for the One Stop School Shop, which gives free school supplies to 2,000 elementary students and 2,000 middle and high school students in need—families can sign up online for the event at the Kress Events Center on August 7. The program is hosted by several local groups, including the Salvation Army, to ensure that kids have the supplies they need for the upcoming school year.  WBAY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers passed a bipartisan bill on June 24 that would remove the $48,000 income cap for services under the Alzheimer’s Family and Caregiver Support Program+ The measure now moves to the governor’s desk and aims to help an estimated 205,000 unpaid caregivers who support family members with Alzheimer’s.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • Children's Wisconsin plans to open a walk-in mental health clinic in Allouez in late 2025 for kids ages 5 to 18 inside the Bellin Psychiatric Center at 301 E. St. Joseph St. The clinic will offer therapy, safety checks and help connect kids to community resources once enough mental health providers are hired.  Green Bay Press-Gazette
