ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A motorcyclist was taken to a trauma center after a crash with a vehicle on June 21 at 9:55 p.m. near the corner of Cty Tk KK and Loderbauer Road in Buchanan—first responders treated the victim immediately as the driver declined medical care.  WeAreGreenBay.com

CULTURE NEWS

  • Willow Newell, a 22-year-old from Racine, was crowned Miss Wisconsin 2025—making her the first Black woman to win the title. She earned top vocalist honors among 29 contestants and will travel to Orlando in early September to compete for the Miss America 2026 title.  WBAY

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On June 22, extreme heat tied a record high of 94 degrees and caused pavement to fail in Ashwaubenon—Holmgren Way between Pilgrim and Willard near Bay Park Square Mall was closed and Highway 49 North at US 151 was shut down. Crews from Dodge and Winnebago Counties repaired damage on Interstate 41 southbound near Wisconsin 44 and on US 441 Southbound at Wisconsin 47.  FOX 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On June 19, the Redevelopment Authority approved a deal to convert the 90-year-old Fire Station No.1 into a mix of retail space and offices—aiming to boost the energy of the city’s south downtown entrance. The city also set plans to demolish and clean up a contaminated former industrial site on South Broadway to build a new Metro Fire station, headquarters and apartments—work that will begin soon.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

  • The Wisconsin Humane Society advises pet owners to keep animals safe during an upcoming heat wave by offering shade, water and cool surfaces for short walks while checking pavement temperature (if it is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for your pet).  WBAY

SPORTS NEWS

  • Cyclists participated in Tour America's Dairyland in De Pere on Sunday despite hot weather—local Green Bay rider Scott Rohlfing competed in the men’s novice race as part of an 11-day series across southeast Wisconsin. Today, day two of Tour De Pere will be held at St. Norbert College as riders continue the competition.  WBAY
