COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Green Bay Parks Department has launched its summer Parkee Program today so that children from six to 18 and younger children with an adult can join sports, crafts and game activities at local parks from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until August 15—sites will be closed on July 4 and 31 and a summer food program also starts today to serve meals.  WBAY

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Discover Green Bay announced that tourism in Brown County boomed in 2024 with 6.5 million visitors and a $1.407 billion economic impact—placing the county among the top five for visitor spending. Brad Toll said his team is planning major convention events to boost tourism in 2025 and beyond.  WBAY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Tony Evers visited the future Green Bay Public Market on June 10 and said he is confident the project will boost the Broadway District despite higher construction costs that have pushed the opening to spring 2026—On Broadway Inc. seeks $5 million through state funds and private donations, and work will soon resume at 211 N.   • Jim Ridderbush replaced former council member Chris Wery on the City Council after a vote of six to five on June 10—effective immediately as he serves until April 2026. He said he will focus on reducing speeding on Ninth and Gross avenues, addressing traffic from a new Kwik Trip development and cutting red tape for affordable housing.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • N.E.W. Community Clinic opened its new Behavioral Health Clinic today at 424 S. Monroe Avenue in Green Bay to offer mental health and substance recovery services for those with limited care access. Local leaders said the clinic plans to serve about 2,500 visits a year—hiring six new staff members to support its services.  WBAY

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A new single family home at 929 N. Broadway in Green Bay was unveiled on June 9 to offer cheaper housing options, and it serves as a model for tackling the local housing shortage. The project by NeighborWorks Green Bay involved high school students in a carpentry program + it marks a step toward long-term affordable housing solutions.  WNCY
