- ➤ The Greater Green Bay YMCA west side facility in Howard held its groundbreaking ceremony yesterday for a $9M renovation and expansion project that will update workout and play spaces, add a six-lane lap pool and a 7,500 sqft gym including pickleball and therapy space, with work finishing by early 2027. 94.3 Jack FM
- ➤ A groundbreaking ceremony kicked off at 10 a.m. Thursday at the West Side YMCA in Howard, marking the start of renovations that added a six-lane lap pool, additional pickleball courts, updated locker rooms and a kids zone—work is expected to complete early next year. WBAY

- ➤ Cornerstone Community Center (CCC) is expanding its facility with a new ice sheet and 3,000 more seats as part of its $23 million Grow the ‘Stone campaign to boost local economic impact. - ➤ Luxembourg-Casco High School senior Annie Annoye was surprised today with a $10,000 Brian LaViolette Scholarship presented by family, friends, and education officials from the Greater Green Bay Chamber. - ➤ UW-Green Bay will launch its first coaching program for new teachers this fall, offering monthly virtual sessions and two individual coaching appointments to build support networks with experienced mentors — a collaborative response to rising teacher turnover. UW-Green Bay
- ➤ The UW System awarded bachelor’s degrees to incarcerated students at Oakhill and Stanley Correctional Institutions on Monday for the first time since 1975 through its Prison Education Initiative — launched in 2022 with a $5.7 million grant that has helped over 200 students earn credentials for post-release work.
