COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A free Memorial Day observance will be held Monday, May 25 at Heritage Hill State Historical Park from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and features a performance by the Fort Howard Guard Fife & Drum Corps and a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (with additional local events honoring veterans).  Green Bay News Network
  • The NEW Zoo opened its full Adventure Park Saturday, featuring a zip line, ropes course, climbing tower and play area for kids, and the park will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Labor Day + large groups are encouraged to reserve spots.  WBAY
  • Celebrate De Pere returns this weekend (May 23-25) at Voyageur Park in De Pere with 36th annual festivities featuring musical performances, an amusement park, fireworks, car and drone shows, and a Fox River Regatta that will draw about 30,000 visitors. A Memorial Day ceremony recognizing military service is set for Monday at 12:30 p.m.  FOX 11

  • Stacker compiled a Social Security report listing the top girls’ names in Wisconsin by decade from the 1960s to 2010s (with origins, counts and rankings). The data shows classic names like Lisa led earlier decades while modern favorites like Olivia have surfaced recently.  WBAY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Flags were flown at half-staff Saturday to honor EMS professionals who lost their lives, and governor Tony Evers has ordered flags to be at half-staff Monday for Memorial Day to honor fallen heroes.  WBAY

  • Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love and wife Ronika Stone welcomed their daughter, Rayna Capri Love, yesterday — they had announced her expected arrival earlier as congratulatory messages poured in on social media.  WBAY
