ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Green Bay man died at a local hospital on Sunday after a motorized bicycle crash occurred just before 8 a.m. Saturday on the 1300 block of Cherry Street + police said no charges are expected against the other bicyclist who sustained minor injuries, and the cause is under investigation.  WNCY

  • Cellcom has experienced an ongoing phone service outage since May 15 due to a cyber incident, leaving many in Green Bay unable to make calls or send texts. Boost Mobile reports a steady influx of customers seeking temporary numbers as they wait for Cellcom to restore number porting and consistent service.  94.3 Jack FM

CRIME NEWS

  • Gustavo Cantu was sentenced on Friday to 35 years in prison for his role in a 2022 murder—linked to a drug deal on the west side of Green Bay.  WNCY
  • Four men—three from Rockford and one from Louisville—were charged by a federal grand jury with conspiring to distribute large amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine in Green Bay after DEA agents seized 30 kilograms of cocaine on April 22, and all remain in custody at Brown County Jail.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Wisconsin has seen 22 tornadoes in 2025 in communities such as Juneau and Mayville, one less than the average annual total of 23. Meteorologists say warmer weather may be behind the increase and expect more tornadoes through August.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Sen. Eric Wimberger asked the state for an extension as Brown County, Green Bay officials and coal owner C. Reiss must agree by May 30 to move the downtown coal piles – a move needed to secure a $15 million grant for environmental cleanup and redevelopment.  WTAQ
  • Officials from Brown County, Green Bay and C. Reiss are reviewing two proposals to move the downtown coal piles; if a deal is not reached by May 30, the state will rescind a $15 million grant. One proposal would lease land at the former Pulliam Power Plant and the other targets 13 acres by Fox River Terminals — both steps expected to support port growth and waterfront revitalization.  WTAQ

  • Packers President Mark Murphy recalled his favorite moment from the NFL Draft in Green Bay when Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden was chosen 23rd on April 24. He said the strong fan reaction at Lambeau Field showed how much the draft had changed views of playing in Green Bay.  FOX 11
