- ➤ Badger Bash North will take over the Broadway District on Saturday, Sept. 5 (free entry) and host family-friendly activities like a football combine, marching band parade, and live music before the Badgers vs. Notre Dame game at Lambeau Field. NBC 26
- ➤ Memorial Day ceremonies to honor fallen U.S. military servicemembers will take place on May 25 across the Green Bay area. Events feature parades, wreath layings, speeches, and musical tributes at locations like Heritage Hill State Historical Park, De Pere streets, and Admiral Flatley Park regardless of weather. - ➤ A meeting of creditors was held in federal bankruptcy court Monday as Newcap continues winding down its operations in Green Bay. The nonprofit, which provided social services to the community, owes $4.03 million to 209 parties+ its first bankruptcy report is due Thursday. WTAQ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The UW System awarded bachelor’s degrees to incarcerated students including 15 UW-Green Bay graduates on Monday (the first such milestone since 1975). The Prison Education Initiative began in 2022 with a $5.7 million grant to improve post-release opportunities and reduce recidivism statewide. WTAQ

- ➤ The Green Bay City Council approved a conditional permit Tuesday for Safe Haven Hope Center to operate a transitional living home at 315 South Jefferson — the former Newcap site. The facility will serve up to 19 residents and 26 people total and require a six-month status update from staff. WBAY
- ➤ Bellevue village officials announced plans to install a porkchop configuration (allowing limited left-hand turns) that will let eastbound drivers turn from Landmark Blvd onto Costco Way after many have used the parking lot; final design and engineering are underway with cost estimates around $110,000. 94.3 Jack FM
