Good morning, Green Bay. Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 19th of May.

HEALTH NEWS

  • Winnebago County health officials say harm reduction programs like Lifepoint—and public health vending machines that supply Narcan—helped lower overdose deaths last year, but potential HHS and SAMHSA cuts may reverse that progress. They note that over 1,200 items have been distributed since September and warn that federal funding cuts could hurt local opioid crisis efforts.  94.3 Jack FM

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Sunday morning, thousands of runners took part in the new EPIC Marathon and Running Festival in Ashwaubenon, where live music on an electric guitar opened the race in tribute to Jimi Hendrix and the event served as a Boston Marathon qualifier. A portion of the funds raised was donated to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin & participants raised cancer awareness by running in themed gear.  WBAY
