COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A celebration at Neville Public Museum on May 11 marked 50 years since the first Hmong families came to our country and honored Hmong-Lao veterans who fought with U.S. troops in Vietnam—local organizers said the event featured music, dance, and food from area donors. An observance on May 14 will celebrate the Hmong people's strength in preserving their culture—further showcasing their rich heritage.  FOX 11

CULTURE NEWS

  • The National Railroad Museum in Ashwaubenon is expanding its space—adding areas for exhibits, community groups, educational programs, weddings and birthday parties—to meet growing visitor numbers. The first phase will be finished by mid-September and later phases will add more train displays and a special area for children.  FOX 11

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Barb LaMue informed the New North Board of Directors that she will retire as President & CEO in September or when a successor is in place to ensure a smooth transition; she will lead the organization serving 18 counties until a replacement is named.  Green Bay News Network

HEALTH NEWS

  • Bay Port High School students hosted a color run on May 10 in Howard where nearly 300 local residents ran and celebrated with pink powder to raise mental health awareness — the event was organized by the school's Sources of Strength program.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Erika Delgadillo prepared a mix of Mexican and breakfast dishes for customers at La Chata on May 6 at 800 Cedar St in Green Bay. The restaurant served specialties like a meat lover’s skillet—chorizo tacos and steak burritos—to local diners.  Green Bay Press-Gazette
