- ➤ Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay officially started its season on May 3, offering all rides after a brief early opening during the NFL Draft. The park will operate on weekends until it expands to a full week later in May + a new train at Bay Beach Station will open in June. WBAY
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ De Pere officials warned residents not to use the oven as storage after an apartment fire was confined to the oven in a multiunit townhouse on Scheuring Road on Saturday, as fire crews responded at 10:04 a.m. and contained the blaze with no injuries reported. WeAreGreenBay.com
- ➤ Authorities identified 18-year-old Connor J. Carlson as the motorcyclist who died when his bike collided with a northbound vehicle turning onto Mike McCarthy Way on April 26th around 11:25 p.m. — the 84-year-old driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and investigators turned the case over to the Brown County Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Team. - ➤ On May 3, train fans gathered at the KI Convention Center for the 24th annual Titletown Train Show where model train layouts and railway displays attracted local interest. Green Bay Press-Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Green Bay Department of Public Works announced that the Mason Street Bridge will be closed Monday, May 5 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Bart Starr Memorial Bridge will be closed Tuesday, May 6 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. with detours via South Ashland Avenue, Walnut Street, and local roads—closures that depend on weather conditions to keep access open for residences and businesses.
