CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Benjamin Joos was sentenced on Wednesday to 18 months in federal prison for assaulting a postal worker with a shotgun while intoxicated, and he must serve three years of supervised release and pay $10,124.46 in restitution after the Sept 24 incident in Shawano County + the postal worker suffered minor injuries when shotgun pellets hit her vehicle. - ➤ A Green Bay man involved in a fatal shooting reached a plea deal and was convicted on a reduced charge of first-degree reckless homicide in Brown County Court for shooting a man in an alley in December 2022—he will face up to 60 years in prison when sentenced on July 28. WHBY
- ➤ A Greenleaf man pleaded no contest Monday on 31 charges involving asking underage girls for nude photos and was found guilty on 13 counts including stalking and child pornography, with his $50,000 bond revoked—he will face sentencing on June 23. WeAreGreenBay.com
- ➤ Green Bay police responded to a disturbance on the 1300-block of Doty Street near Joannes Park—called in at 7:45 on Wednesday morning—and asked drivers to avoid the area while residents between S. Baird and S. Irwin sheltered in their homes as East High and Washington Middle secured their buildings. WBAY

- ➤ Country music star Eric Church will perform at the Resch Center on Thursday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m. for his Free the Machine Tour, and premium Church Choir members can access tickets starting Monday, May 5 — non-premium registration opens Tuesday, May 6 with general public sales beginning Friday, May 9. - ➤ Country star Eric Church announced he will perform in Green Bay on Thursday, September 25 during his ‘Free the Machine Tour’ — featuring guest group Marcus King Band. Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 10 at 10:00 a.m. with early Church Choir access beginning Monday, May 5. WeAreGreenBay.com
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Brown County officials said repaving will soon start on six miles of the Fox River State Trail between Green Bay and De Pere and that parts of the trail will be closed in three phases - from Heritage Road to William Street in De Pere from May 5 to May 9, from Porlier Pier to Lazarre Avenue from June 9 to June 13, and from Lazarre Avenue to William Street from June 16 to June 20; the dates may change with weather conditions. This update was provided during a meeting with Friends of the Fox River Trail. WeAreGreenBay.com
