CRIME NEWS

  • Joelle Blaser, a Green Bay woman, was charged Thursday with first degree reckless homicide for the overdose death of her long-time partner who died September 2 at the Green Bay Rehabilitation Center after allegedly giving him a Tylenol PM bottle containing Xanax and fentanyl—records note she snuck the drugs into his hospital visit despite a previous ban.  WBAY
  • Jacob Ventura was convicted Thursday for his role in a 2022 murder on the city’s west side where Randall Denny was fatally shot at Perkins and Western avenues on April 30 — Ventura pleaded no contest to aiding a felon and being a felon in possession of a firearm, with sentencing set for June 17 while Alejandro Cantu received 15 years and Gustavo Cantu will be sentenced on May 23.  WNCY

  • Green Bay and Appleton were named in the 2025 Top 100 Best Places to Live list by Livability.com.   • The NFL Draft Experience opened yesterday at noon with a Packers dive bar-themed Draft Haus near Lambeau Field, where over 80 local vendors + football activities like a 40 yard dash attracted fans. The free three-day event offers autographs, games, and other NFL fun.  94.3 Jack FM
  • NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is in Green Bay exploring the community as he hosts the 2025 NFL Draft. He said the event will benefit the city, and the first round begins at 7 p.m.—the Packers hold the 23rd pick barring any trades.  WeAreGreenBay.com
