  • Green Bay Metro Fire Department will conduct a food truck inspection on May 19 from 2-6 p.m. at Station #9 to check cooking equipment, fire suppression systems, extinguishers, generators, and electrical safety. Trucks passing will earn an annual compliance sticker & boost regional safety.  WNCY

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Stella, a 1-year-old Akita husky mix who survived a gunshot wound and a 30-foot fall after jumping an overpass in Howard, died April 18 after recovering from open-chest surgery, the Wisconsin Humane Society announced in Green Bay.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

  • Fincantieri Marine Group will build new fast unmanned boats for many naval tasks at its Wisconsin shipyard system. The 170-foot boat (called Saildrone’s Spectre) is designed to help fight submarines and work quietly.  94.3 Jack FM
  • Green Bay Converting is recovering from a Mar. 16 fire at its Larsen Road facility (320,000 sqft) that caused fewer than 35 layoffs and minor firefighter injuries. The company has cleaned over half its production equipment and expects to restart production within 60 days, with full operations resuming in summer.  94.3 Jack FM

  • Green Bay Converting plans to restart production in 60 days after a Mar. 16 fire disrupted its 320,000 sqft facility, the largest in nearly 30 years. The company laid off fewer than 35 of its 200+ employees and is offering financial and job transition assistance.  WNCY

  • The Wisconsin DNR warns residents to check fire danger and burn permits before starting outdoor fires, as last week's rains did not eliminate wildfire risks. Forecasts for drier, windy conditions and downed trees mean clearing debris remains essential.  NBC 26
