- ➤ The Brown County Tavern League will run 40 free SafeRide shuttles from Lambeau Field and nearly 200 local bars and restaurants from April 23 to 26 to help NFL Draft visitors and residents avoid drunk driving—Don Mjelde said the program expanded after delays at the 2023 NFL Draft in Kansas City and will drive riders home within Brown County. - ➤ Ten student interns at St. Norbert College are researching the school's link with the Packers and have displayed photos and clippings at Mulva Library in De Pere on April 9th for NFL Draft visitors coming April 24th—26th. Green Bay Press-Gazette
- ➤ Green Bay School District presented three name options for its new elementary school at 1754 Ninth St.—the choices are Bart Starr Elementary, Bright Horizons Elementary, and Creekside Elementary. The school board will review the names on Monday and is expected to decide on the final name at its April 28 meeting as construction begins this summer. Green Bay Press-Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting 7 a.m. on April 13, the eastbound lanes of Lombardi Avenue from South Military Avenue to Holmgren Way and part of South Ridge Road will close—crews will use the break to build the NFL draft campus. The westbound lanes of Lombardi Avenue will close on April 19, and additional closures will take effect from April 23 until after the draft. Green Bay Press-Gazette
