COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Green Bay Packers and Verizon announced a 7-year partnership to clear $3 million in debt for Wisconsin veterans over the next two years. Veterans will learn their debt is cleared when they receive a letter from the Packers—Verizon and ForgiveCo. WBAY
- ➤ Brown County leaders met yesterday to discuss how rising housing costs and fewer affordable units are increasing homelessness in the area, with record numbers of unsheltered individuals reported. The coalition noted 86 unsheltered people in 2024 and an unofficial count of 73 so far in 2025, and said that building more affordable housing will be key to reducing the problem. FOX 11
- ➤ Brown County reported a record 643 people experiencing homelessness in January and an increase in households with residents staying an average of 84 days. Carrie Poser from Balance of State said the county needs more permanent supportive housing and rapid rehousing options — federal funding remains uncertain. Green Bay Press-Gazette

- ➤ Green Bay Southwest High School is retiring the jersey of alumna Natisha Hiedeman today at 3:30 p.m. in the Carl Sunby Gymnasium to honor her record as a top scorer and multi-sport athlete who became a WNBA star—her jersey will remain on display in the gym. WeAreGreenBay.com
- ➤ UW-Green Bay will host 'Cool Chemistry' on Tuesday, May 6 at its Manitowoc Campus University Theatre—offering free shows for kids aged 3-8 at 4:30 p.m. and for older children at 6:30 p.m.—with experiments like color-changing solutions, dry ice fog and a 'Barking Dog' demonstration, while doors open 45 minutes early with a limit of 350 guests per session. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Green Bay Metro Transit announced that it will run a free bus route from downtown to Titletown for the 2025 NFL draft from April 24—26 to ease travel for visitors. The route includes 13 stops and will operate every 15 minutes, running from noon—10 p.m. on April 24—25 and 10 a.m.—6 p.m. on April 26 with no open alcohol allowed. Green Bay Press-Gazette
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Crews raised the roof of the NFL Draft Theater on Wednesday, April 9 as work began on March 29 when a parking lot adjacent to Lambeau Field was closed to build the stage. The theater (which will host top draft choices meeting NFL commissioner Roger Goodell) is preparing for the NFL Draft on the night of April 24. FOX 11
