- ➤ Wisconsin Swim Academy held a groundbreaking ceremony at its future Howard-Suamico facility on April 8 (featuring a 7,000 sqft heated pool and a 1,500 sqft toddler tumbling program) near Howard Commons. The facility will open in fall at 2920 Riverview Drive. FOX 11
- ➤ A Green Bay native, Amy Dill, works as NASA’s capsule communicator on the Artemis II mission, linking astronauts with Mission Control as the historic flight travels farther than past missions. She will complete her final shift before splashdown (tomorrow, April 10) after 15 years at NASA. WBAY
- ➤ Fox 11’s spring food drive took place until 5 p.m. yesterday in Ashwaubenon, Appleton and Oshkosh, collecting nonperishable food and household items to support programs including Paul’s Pantry, St. Joseph’s Food Program and Father Carr’s Place 2B. FOX 11
- ➤ Preliminary estimates released April 8 show that Brown County homelessness dropped 8% to 416 people in January, but local providers report longer shelter stays and rising needs among older adults, families and chronically homeless residents.
