COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ A new survey in Northeast Wisconsin will assess housing options for families of over 6,000 individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities living with older caregivers (organized by My Housing Voice) across Brown, Calumet, Outagamie and Winnebago counties. Community conversations will occur over the next six weeks. WNCY
- ➤ Safe Haven Hope Center opened on S Jefferson Street to house nine people while still renting motel rooms for additional guests, costing about $5,000 monthly plus ($90 per night). The shelter will meet nearby property owners and plans to apply for a conditional use permit by May 13. WNCY
- ➤ Grace Lutheran Church hosted its annual Easter dinner yesterday, serving over 100 guests ham, sides and homemade desserts + 30 volunteers donated leftover food to local shelters. WTAQ

- ➤ State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly led a roundtable at Green Bay Area School District’s Central Office on Monday morning—reviewing a new statewide report on teacher shortages while local and regional education leaders discussed pipeline and staffing challenges. WBAY

- ➤ In Suamico, local experts say northern pike are moving into freshly flooded waterways — spawning in marshes near Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve as melting snow and rain raise water levels; the eggs could hatch into fry by early summer. FOX 11
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Tony Evers signed two bills yesterday to release millions from a trust fund for PFAS cleanup — the law lets the Department of Natural Resources begin water testing, grant programs and remediation work in affected communities. Green Bay Press-Gazette
- ➤ County JJ in Eaton is closed between Phillips Road and Danielski Lane due to a broken culvert pipe on April 5, according to the Brown County Highway Department. Drivers are advised to detour via County QQ to State 29 to County T. Green Bay Press-Gazette
- ➤ Southbound S. Webster Avenue was closed to traffic Monday between E. Mason and Cass Streets for emergency utility repairs. Crews set up a detour via E. Mason, Monroe, and Porlier Streets as drivers experienced backups. 94.3 Jack FM
