UW System President Jay Rothman is locked in a dispute with the board after being told to resign without a clear reason as discussions continue regarding his future.
The board may meet over Easter weekend to decide if he will be fired — a decision that could reshape the system’s leadership.

The Wisconsin DOT now offers a webpage with weekly updates on 12 planned lift bridge closures for motorists + mariners in northeast Wisconsin, including Green Bay, to help schedule trips and review safety details.
Options to sign up for alerts let users stay informed about maintenance and inspections.
Today, the City granted a temporary use permit to Safe Haven Hope Center to operate a transitional homeless shelter at 315 S Jefferson Street; the site will host nine residents overnight until June 30 while a next-door property owner expresses safety concerns.
The center said it will perform background checks and begin community outreach (donut runs) this week.

The Green Bay Packers are lobbying lawmakers as a subcommittee reviews a bill that may revise the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961, which has kept small-market teams stable by sharing broadcast revenue.
The team said potential changes could hurt its survival and plans to continue discussions with state legislators.
