COMMUNITY NEWS

  • New Community Shelter began construction on a $14 million permanent supportive housing project in Green Bay that will provide safe and stable housing for individuals rebuilding their lives. Construction started last November and is expected to finish in 10-12 months.  FOX 11
  • Local voters can cast their vote for Brown County’s worst road until Monday, Apr. 12. Winter weather worsened road conditions after a blizzard, prompting plans to repave Shawano Avenue and drawing attention to rough patches on Main Avenue and Humboldt Road.  Green Bay Press-Gazette
  • Newcap closed its Green Bay office immediately amid allegations of mishandling taxpayer money, and employees were told Tuesday they no longer have a job. Community partners are now working to help those affected by the closure.  WNCY

CULTURE NEWS

  • Six months after its director stepped down, the Neville Museum remains without a permanent leader as county officials report 40+ applicants have not yet been interviewed and community members grow frustrated. A county committee meets tonight but the director’s hiring is not on the agenda.  NBC 26

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Greenleaf Volunteer Fire Department announced plans to rebuild its station at 1657 Day Street — groundwork begins May 1 and work is expected to finish near the end of the year. The upgrade will meet modern safety and accessibility needs for fire and rescue operations.  WNCY
