CULTURE NEWS

  • Heritage Hill will open early for its 2025 season with Opening Week set from April 21st through 27th — featuring NFL Draft talks on Thursday and Friday plus daily tram tours, historic games and activities led by costumed interpreters.  Green Bay News Network

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Third-grade student Zoey Lanier—attending St. Mark Lutheran School—won first place in the Nicholas Maxim category at the national Zaner-Bloser Handwriting Contest. Judges chose her neat entry from a national pool of submissions, and only two winners in this category are recognized each year.  WTAQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The 2025 State of the Tribes address is complete and now 11 sovereign tribes await what lawmakers will decide next. Oneida Nation councilman Jameson Wilson explained that the address, delivered last week by St. Croix Tribal Chairman Thomas Crawford, marks the start of a 25-year process of reviewing tribal concerns.  WBAY
  • On Thursday, C. Reiss said it will meet with city and county officials to discuss moving Green Bay’s coal piles to the old Pulliam Power Plant site. State officials pushed for the move and Shipyard District, Inc. sent a letter urging the change — negotiations are expected to start soon — as parties work to secure a $15 million grant.  WeAreGreenBay.com
  • Elon Musk announced that a Green Bay voter received $1 million as part of his political action committee’s move ahead of the Wisconsin Supreme Court race for a retiring liberal justice. The payment—similar to a lottery he ran last year—adds to the record-setting spending in this tight contest.  FOX 11
  • Oneida Street from Lombardi Avenue to Stadium Drive will close at 7 a.m. Saturday for NFL Draft stage construction in Ashwaubenon, and Armed Forces Drive will also close at that time with work continuing until May 10. Later this month, additional traffic changes on Lombardi Avenue may affect access near Lambeau Field — drivers should plan accordingly.  WNCY
