EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UW-Green Bay announced a guaranteed $1,000 Dual Enrollment Scholarship for high school students who completed a UW-Green Bay course and enrolled as degree-seeking students, with awards available to the Class of 2026 and 2027. Students must complete the university scholarship application after admission to qualify. UW-Green Bay
- ➤ Howard-Suamico Schools will ask voters on the April 7 ballot to approve two referendums—a $147 million measure for school upgrades and a $39 million measure to support everyday costs that keep class sizes small. The tax rate stays flat if approved and early voting began March 24. Green Bay Press-Gazette

- ➤ The Brown County Housing Authority (100% federally funded) paused new applications for its Housing Choice Voucher Program on March 16 because of limited federal funds; those on the waiting list will still receive help. NBC 26
- ➤ Wisconsin DOT officials say the Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge is safe to drive on after a Facebook post showed a gap at an expansion joint that appears normal based on routine inspections. The bridge was last inspected in Sept. 2024 and continues to meet design standards above the Fox River. FOX 11
- ➤ On Monday, Mar. 30, Dousman Street between N. Military Avenue and N. Fisk Street will be closed for utility work to serve Chapel School. Access for local residences and businesses will be maintained without a detour. FOX 11

- ➤ Cornerstone Community Center in De Pere is hosting the USA Hockey National Championships since Tuesday and will run through Sunday — elite youth teams are competing with scouts from NHL and NCAA in attendance and over 1,000 spectators have gathered with free admission supporting local youth hockey.
