- ➤ Cell phone companies like Cellcom and UScellular are boosting network capacity by adding temporary units (COWs) and installing permanent equipment near Lambeau Field to support residents and visitors during the NFL Draft, which begins in two weeks. The upgrades will help maintain strong connectivity (even after the event) as large crowds test the local network. WNCY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The land hosting the National Railroad Museum sits in Ashwaubenon but is owned by the City of Green Bay because a 1936 will from William D. Cooke gave 24 acres on the Fox River for a park (Cooke Memorial Park). The city accepted these terms on September 5th, 1939 and later developed the site into the museum location. - ➤ On March 16th, St. Brendan’s Inn held its annual St. Baldrick’s head-shave event with about 75 people donating hair to support childhood cancer research — raising over $70,000 in pledges by noon. The donated hair was sent to Maggie’s Wigs 4 Kids — an organization that makes wigs for children facing hair loss from cancer. WTAQ
