COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Green Bay is setting up for the 2025 NFL Draft by having over 250 local businesses and residents offer paid parking near Lambeau Field. Notre Dame Academy and St. Joseph Catholic Church are planning parking and shuttle services—final routes and schedules are still pending.  94.3 Jack FM

CRIME NEWS

  • Fans preparing for the NFL Draft in Green Bay are warned by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection that scammers are posting fake lodging listings and selling counterfeit tickets—advising everyone to verify property details on trusted sites and use secure payment methods before booking.  WTAQ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At a special board meeting, St. Norbert College approved cuts to 20 majors and minors—current students can still finish their programs. The college also will cut 21 staff positions this May and plan six more cuts next May as it faces financial challenges.  WBAY
  • Green Bay Area Public School District’s Youth Apprenticeship program offers students hands-on job training, school credit and workforce credentials while they earn wages from local employers. James Smith from Green Bay East works on electrical boxes and is one of 339 students now paired with 254 employers who will earn $2.3 million this year—helping them start careers in trades and other fields.  FOX 11
  • The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay was named a Research College and University by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. It is one of only five comprehensive universities in the state—one of 216 institutions nationwide to receive this honor.  Green Bay News Network

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials and business volunteers are removing over 200 Party to the Polls stickers from downtown light poles as part of clean-up efforts for the 2025 NFL Draft—using a solvent that works in warm weather because the stickers are considered vandalism. Daybreaker, the group behind the sticker events, has paid for the removal and officials say the poles might need repainting if damage is found.  94.3 Jack FM
  • Green Bay leaders and downtown business groups are asking volunteers to remove over 200 'Party to the Polls' stickers from light poles in preparation for the 2025 NFL Draft—Daybreaker has covered the cleaning costs after the stickers first appeared in mid-October.  WTAQ

  • The WIAA state girls basketball tournament will start on March 12, 2025 at the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon with seven high school teams from Northeast Wisconsin competing for the title — local fans plan to fill the arena.
