CULTURE NEWS

  • The annual Green Bay Film Festival will showcase independent films from local and global filmmakers on Saturday at the historic Tarlton Theatre downtown, with doors opening at 4 p.m. for screenings starting at 5 p.m. and running until about 9:15 p.m. Tickets are $15.  NBC 26
  • St. Patrick's Day events are coming soon, with Lucky’s Bar Crawl on March 14 at 4 p.m. along Broadway, a five-day Shipyard District pub crawl from March 13 to 17, and a party at Stadium View Bar on March 17 featuring food, drink specials, & activities.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

EDUCATION NEWS

  • NWTC business management graduates now have a direct transfer pathway to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration at St. Norbert College, announced Tuesday — with coordinated advising and clear course mapping easing their move from NWTC in Green Bay to the De Pere campus.  WNCY
  • The Green Bay Area Public School District is reviewing a proposal to convert Edison Middle School's underused pool into an auxiliary gym (expected to ease scheduling challenges and reduce costs) if approved this spring, with work slated for fall 2028 at a preliminary cost of $1.5 million.  WTAQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Power line work along the Fox River in De Pere began in January to replace 73 aging poles and rebuild 5.5 miles of line near Voyageur Park. The project, which includes shoreline stabilization to protect the river, will be completed by fall—ensuring reliable service.  WNCY
  • Local hospitals urge state senators to pass Assembly Bill 598 soon to ease Green Bay's emergency room backlogs caused by delays in post-acute care transfers. The bill would let family members make timely decisions for incapacitated patients (the Wisconsin Hospital Association reports) so available beds can serve more critical cases.  94.3 Jack FM
