EDUCATION NEWS

  • Green Bay schools announced two superintendent finalists after a nationwide search. Community members can join a meet & greet on Wednesday, Mar. 4 for Michael Hernandez and on Thursday, Mar. 5 for Dr. Michael Trimberger at the old West High School library.  94.3 Jack FM
  • Washington Middle School counselors (Sandra Gavin, Jessica McCullough, and Charles Gille) won a statewide award for helping eighth graders pass a high school credit health class by offering regular check-ins and extra time; their support allowed nine more students to succeed by semester's end.  Green Bay Press-Gazette
  • Green Bay Area Public School District finalists for superintendent, Michael Hernandez and Dr. Michael Trimberger Jr., will host meet-and-greet events with Hernandez on Mar. 4 and Trimberger on Mar. 5 from 5 to 6 p.m. (at the old library at West High School on Shawano Avenue) for community questions.  WTAQ
  • Union Pacific Railroad executive Kenny Rocker will speak on transportation leadership at UW‑Green Bay’s Bridging Success Through Leadership series on Tuesday, Mar. 10 at Fort Howard Hall. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and public tickets cost $10, with networking and refreshments to follow.  UW-Green Bay

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A wastewater leak was discovered today just before 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Pine and N. Roosevelt streets when a 1/4 inch valve was left open during startup of a temporary conveyance system; crews stopped the leak within 30 minutes and completed cleanup by 3:15 p.m.  94.3 Jack FM

SPORTS NEWS

  • Heritage Auctions reported that a certificate from the Packers’ 1923 stock sale sold for $64,050 at auction — the memorabilia grants 20 shares and reflects early efforts after financial uncertainty; the auction closed Sunday.  94.3 Jack FM
  • The Green Bay Packers announced a ticket price increase for next season, raising regular season prices by $4 to $22 and preseason tickets by $2 to $10 at Lambeau Field. Invoices are available online (payment is due by March 31).  94.3 Jack FM
  • Packers quarterback Jordan Love and star defensive end Micah Parsons will co-host a charity softball game at Fox Cities Stadium on June 5 to raise funds for their foundations — Love’s Hands of 10ve Foundation and Parsons’ The Lion Heart Foundation.
