  • UW-Green Bay and New North announced the Cheese Wedge Consortium on Feb. 27 to boost startup growth in Northeast Wisconsin (the initiative is funded by a $1M Ignite Wisconsin grant) and link local business, investors, and service providers in building a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem.  UW-Green Bay

CRIME NEWS

  • A local teen had his Pokémon card valued at about $150 to $200 stolen at a card show this past weekend, but a news producer and vendor tracked it down so his mother could recover it — a rare turnaround in such cases.  WBAY

CULTURE NEWS

  • Library media specialist Julie Ollmann organized a seven-hour readathon at Green Bay West that honored African American authors and celebrated Black voices as Black History Month ended.  FOX 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Green Bay Area Public School District is reviewing budget cuts such as closing pools, reducing school days, delaying tech purchases, and ending salary raises following public input last week plus declining enrollment. The board will consider these measures at its March 9 meeting.  FOX 11
  • Barb LaMue was named Executive in Residence at the Schreiber Institute for Women’s Leadership after being announced at the Celebrate 2026 event on Feb. 26 in Green Bay, where she will succeed Karen Lancelle and support regional women’s leadership development & foster local business connections.  UW-Green Bay

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • NEW Water reported a sewage leak on Feb. 24 in downtown Green Bay when a valve was left open during work on the $29 million sewer restoration project + 160 gallons of wastewater spilled near Pine and North Roosevelt streets + officials are now taking steps to prevent further incidents.  Green Bay Press-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Packers announced that ticket prices will be higher at Lambeau Field for the 2026-27 season; regular season tickets will cost an extra $4 to $22 and preseason tickets will rise by $2 to $10. Season ticket holders can view invoices online and must pay by March 31.  FOX 11
