- ➤ Rooted In Inc., a nonprofit connecting families to healthy foods, was selected (for the first time) among 50 groups for the upcoming 24-hour Give BIG Green Bay fundraiser starting Feb. 25. Its leader Selena Darrow said donations will help double the recovered food in 2026 and invest in needed equipment. NBC 26
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Civic Symphony of Green Bay is hosting the Canvas to Crescendo fundraiser at the Weidner Center on Friday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m.—bidding ends after intermission for over 60 art pieces created by local professional and amateur artists. FOX 11
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Green Bay School District seeks community input on budget cuts as it faces an $8M deficit this year. Input sessions run at 6 p.m. today at East High School and at 6 p.m. tomorrow at Southwest High School (proposals include changes to staff benefits and programs). Green Bay Press-Gazette
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Trees are being cleared at Green Isle Park and along the East River Trail in Allouez because the invasive emerald ash borer has made them hazardous. Allouez’s Parks, Recreation & Forestry Director Chris Clark said the removal is meant to keep parkgoers safe while reforestation efforts begin this spring. WNCY
- ➤ Green Bay water officials said cleanup from the Feb. 13 leak finished Friday at 5:00 p.m., with 8,560 gallons released + 2,200 gallons entering the storm sewer and stable conditions after weekend monitoring. FOX 11

- ➤ A redevelopment project in Allouez will transform a vacant strip mall on Webster Avenue and St. Joseph Street into a three- and four-story building featuring roughly 100 apartment units, retail space and community areas; construction is set to begin this spring with completion scheduled for summer 2027.
