  • Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity selected a West De Pere neighborhood for its Rock the Block event & will offer volunteer help with yard work, painting, and gutter cleaning from September 16 to 18.  WBAY
  • The Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers & Milwaukee Bucks are teaming up to sponsor three planeloads of veterans for the 87th Stars and Stripes Honor Flight on Saturday, Jun. 20. The flight will carry 180 veterans to Washington to visit memorials and join a welcome home celebration back in town.  Green Bay News Network

CULTURE NEWS

  • Green Bay native Mackenna Tolfa broke a barrier as Blue Man Group’s first female tour drummer and will perform in Milwaukee at Miller High Life Theatre on Feb. 17 and Feb. 18.  FOX 11

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The Port of Green Bay ended its 2025-26 shipping season, handling 1,587,620 tons of cargo from 155 vessels and seeing rises in salt & wood pulp shipments. It now prepares for the 2026 season as the First Ship Contest is open for community predictions.  Green Bay News Network

  • The Village of Allouez will begin summer camp registration on Monday, Feb. 16 at 12:00 a.m. online + 7:00 a.m. at Village Hall. The licensed day camp offers full-day outdoor activities and trained counselors for children ages 6 to 13.  Green Bay News Network
  • Forward 48 is launching its 10th leadership cohort this spring featuring top regional business, philanthropy, finance, arts, and community leaders + New North Inc.'s CEO, Maria Van Laanen, as the kickoff speaker. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • After repealing a 2009 finding that greenhouse gases harm health, the EPA’s decision has local experts and residents in Green Bay concerned about worsening air quality (with rising health costs) as state climate impacts intensify.   • A recent EPA report shows PFAS levels in Great Lakes fish have dropped (analysis of 1,000 walleye and lake trout samples from 1975 to 2020 confirmed the decline). The findings offer important insight for local fish safety and consumption.  WBAY

  • Shiny new boats will fill the Resch Expo today at 2 p.m. for Green Bay’s annual Boat Show, featuring fishing boats, pontoons, jet skis, and more at discounted prices. The event includes a bourbon-tasting station and breakout classes for adults.  NBC 26

  • Spearers began cutting holes in the ice on Lake Winnebago and nearby lakes on Thursday as water clarity averaged 13.8 feet (the best in years), boosting hopes for a strong season; the sturgeon spearing season opens tomorrow and runs until Mar. 1 unless harvest caps are reached.  FOX 11
