- ➤ At downtown Kiel, 44 amateur ice carvers competed in the 35th annual ice carving contest held on Saturday, Feb. 7. The event featured beginner, student, and adult categories and drew hundreds of visitors, sparking side events like a doggy fashion show and a raffle drawing. FOX 11
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The city cited Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary on Friday for hosting overnight sheltering that violates zoning rules. The Community and Economic Development department stated its enforcement of building and safety standards is not meant to discourage local compassion—while the sanctuary said it was a temporary measure to aid community members.
