COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Cornerstone Community Center in De Pere is nearing completion of its new Donald and Patricia Schneider Family Arena, with two-thirds of the roof finished and 3,000 seats planned in a 65,000 sqft space. The arena will open in fall 2026 to support local sports programs + host regional tournaments.  FOX 11

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Firefighters responded to a storage facility fire at St. Norbert College in De Pere on Wednesday night using about 2,000 gallons of water to contain flames that caused $250,000 in damage — no one was hurt and an investigation is underway.  WBAY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Teachers at Wrightstown High School are guiding students to use AI as a tool rather than a shortcut, with the district planning further professional development sessions soon — a move to help educators and students adapt.   NBC 26
  • The Packers are hosting 'Timeout for Reading' at Lambeau Field on Saturday, Mar. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event features story time with NBC 26 Chief Meteorologist Cameron Moreland, a reading by a Packers celebrity, free books & bookmarks for pre-K to 5th grade and literacy activity booths.  NBC 26

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Green Bay’s airport received a $4M federal grant to upgrade taxiways and rehabilitate its airfield for improved safety and efficient operations — part of a $12.4M funding package approved this week to support ongoing improvements.  94.3 Jack FM

SPORTS NEWS

  • NBC 26 Sports Reporter John Miller met with Josh Heimerl at the Green Bay Curling Club & explained the basics of Olympic curling through a video demonstration.  NBC 26
  • Former Hortonville star Kamy Peppler has guided UW-Green Bay’s Phoenix to a 10-game win streak, surpassing 1,000 points and 500 assists this season. The team will play Robert Morris Thursday at 10 a.m. as they look to extend their lead in the Horizon League.  NBC 26
