- ➤ Golden House is one of 50 nonprofits chosen for Give BIG Green Bay 2026, a 24-hour online donation event running Feb. 25-26 (noon-noon) to support local groups. The fundraiser helps organizations like Golden House aid victims of domestic abuse in Brown County. Green Bay News Network
- ➤ CP is one of 50 area nonprofits set to participate in Give BIG Green Bay, a 24-hour online giving event supported by a $250,000 matching pool from the Green Bay Packers. - ➤ Curative Connections received a Legacy Grant from the Wispact Foundation to partner with the YMCA for weekly group exercise classes at its West-Yesteryear Village and East locations (the grant also covers an annual membership for life skills members to support winter activity). - ➤ Green Bay middle school students received a hands-on history lesson from Packers Hall of Fame curator Brent Hensel at Lombardi Middle School on Thursday (his talk tied into school lessons on primary and secondary sources and the evolution of football). WBAY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Wisconsin Assembly approved bills Jan. 15 that exempt tips from state income taxes from 2025 to 2028 and allow overtime deductions up to set limits. The Senate is set to review the measures next to offer tax relief for workers. Green Bay Press-Gazette
- ➤ Green Bay officials clarified that despite downtown construction, ample parking is available with nearly 4,500 spaces in lots, ramps, and on the streets (including free metered spots after 6 p.m.). - ➤ The Green Bay family said Hi Trinh died after suffering a heart attack in Vietnam on Jan. 12 while being transferred from hospital to his relatives' home (funeral arrangements for cremation and return of his remains are underway). WBAY
