Tour of WPS Distribution Operations Center

The Distribution Operations Center at Wisconsin Public Service monitors and controls the flow of electricity and natural gas across transmission and distribution systems, ensuring safe and reliable delivery to homes and businesses. Operators use specialized computer consoles to track real-time parameters and balance supply and demand within specified limits. They also direct switching for planned construction and maintenance activities as well as emergency restoration during outages. All of this runs through a complex control and communication system in Green Bay, connected to hundreds of remote points across the WPS territory, which covers 11,000 square miles in northeastern and north-central Wisconsin and a small section of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Join us for a tour of the Distribution Operations Center to see the recently upgraded facility, learn how the system works, and appreciate the skills of the people who run it.

Space is limited, so the number of participants for this tour is limited. Please register only if you are sure you can attend. Reservations will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Plan to arrive a little early to sign in and receive a visitor badge.
