About this event

Join author and illustrator Geo Rutherford for a deep dive into the weird world of water. Drawing from her bestselling books Spooky Lakes (2024) and Spooky Rivers (2026) , Geo explores the science and stories behind some of the world’s most unusual bodies of water. From boiling rivers and disappearing lakes to waterways with unexpected dangers, these are real places that prove water can be far stranger than it seems. Featuring original artwork, fascinating science, and plenty of bizarre stories, this talk will take you beneath the surface of our planet’s most curious waters. Geo Rutherford is a Sauk City, Wisconsin–based artist, author, educator, and social media phenomenon. She is the creator of Spooky Lake Month, a popular video series with millions of views on TikTok and Instagram. Her videos investigate shipwrecks, toxic lakes, unusual ice formations and other strange hydrological phenomena, blending science, history, and storytelling to captivate a global audience. Learn more about the author here. Author presentation followed by book sales and book signing. Books sales are available in collaboration with Lion’s Mouth Bookstore.
