- ➤ Dozens of community members gathered at St. John’s Ministries on Thursday night to honor 10 homeless residents who died over the past year. Mayor Eric Genrich attended the memorial to show that every person is valued in Green Bay. WBAY
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Starting Wednesday, the Mulva Cultural Center in De Pere will let visitors enjoy free exhibitions and most films with timed tickets thanks to a donation from Miriam and James Mulva. The center also revised memberships to give current members a four-month extension and extra event perks. WNCY
- ➤ Beginning Wednesday, the Mulva Cultural Center in De Pere will remove most entry fees for exhibitions and films because of a gift from Miriam and James Mulva. Memberships now offer extra events including a preview of The Real Genghis Khan in late January. WTAQ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Luxemburg-Casco High School students are gaining hands-on experience through the Youth Apprenticeship program that benefits local employers as they build talent pipelines. Several companies including KARE Auto which plans to hire apprentices full time after graduation next spring reported positive outcomes. Green Bay News Network
- ➤ The Brown County Library has launched a fundraiser aiming to raise $100,000 for the new Pamperin Family Branch in Ashwaubenon near the local Target. The branch will add bookshelves, study rooms, a larger children’s area, and an outdoor patio before its mid-2026 opening. WNCY
- ➤ UW-Green Bay will launch several leadership programs in 2026, including an Emotional Intelligence series starting Feb. 3 online and supervisory certificates beginning Jan. 27, along with a Celebrate event on Feb. 26 at The Weidner (featuring motivational speaker Erin King) to empower future leaders locally. - ➤ Green Bay Public Market reached 87% of its $8.5 million private fundraising goal with strong community support to build a year-round market on Broadway. The project will open in 2026 after delays from increased costs and material shortages. WBAY
